Obituary of Joanna Sobolak

Sobolak, Joanna Peacefully at Niagara Gardens in St. Catharines on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. In her 85th year, Joanna Sobolak( nee Juszczak), beloved wife of the late Walter Sobolak. Loving mother of Wanda (Ed Oszczypek) and Edward Sobolak (Maria).Loving “Babcia” of Thomas, Adam, Patricia (Christopher Cecchini) and Christina. Lovingly remembered by her sister Hanka Baryluk and extended family in Poland and France. Predeceased by her son John, two sisters Julie and Suzanna and two brothers Joseph and Stanley. Joanna immigrated to Canada in 1960 sponsored by Walter and Julie Luszcyk. She enjoyed her family, friends and gardening. The family wish to express sincere thanks to the staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital, The Niagara Gardens, Dr. Lucey and Dr. Koltrec. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines on Wednesday August 28, 2013 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church,5 Oblate Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 10:30am. Rite of Committal to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Renovation Fund would be appreciated by the family.
