Obituary of Sarah Slepkov

Slepkov, Sarah (Sookie) Peacefully passed away at Henley House in St. Catharines on Thursday December 19, 2013. In her 93rd year, Sarah Lee Slepkov (nee Dental), beloved wife of Sidney Slepkov. Loving mother of Howard (Marlene), Norman, Bernie and Martin (Leslie). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Aaron (Emily),Tovah, Lior, Rebecca (David), Noah (Liran), Aliya (Pini),and Tal (Roni) and four great grandchildren. Dear sister of Miriam Abrams (late Sam) and Beatrice (Raymond Feuer). Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Esther Goodbaum (late Julie) and a brother Melvin Dental (late Edie). Together with her husband Sidney, Sookie spent many years in their family business The Fashion Cloak and Fur later the Fashion Shop. A longtime member of Congregation B’nai Israel, Sookie played a prominent leadership role in its many activities and those of the wider community. She will be remembered by many for her knitting and cooking. Her family will miss her dancing and her joie de vivre. A funeral service was held at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines on Monday December 23, 2013 at 12noon. Interment in B’nai Israel Cemetery. Memorial donations to the B’nai Israel Congregation would be appreciated by the family.
