DR. MARTIN SAMOSH (1957-2014) After a brief and unexpected illness, Marty passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the age of 56. He is survived by his cherished wife of 30 years Rosalie, beloved sons Adam, Jonathan, and Daniel, and loving extended Samosh, Liberman, Czosniak, and Frydman families. Following completion of an undergraduate degree at Yeshiva University in New York City and medical school at the University of Toronto, Marty specialized in hematology at Queen's University. He spent his 27 year medical career working as a hematologist and oncologist in St. Catharines, delivering quality compassionate care to his patients and their families. As a cancer survivor himself, Marty selflessly dedicated his life to the alleviation of the suffering of others, often wishing he could do more. He leaves those who knew him with a precious legacy of love, friendship, and the pursuit of excellence.The Samosh family wishes to express gratitude to relatives, friends, and the B'nai Israel community, whose generous support sustained them through this difficult time. Deepest appreciation is also owed to the surgical and ICU teams at the Hamilton General Hospital, and to Dr. Findlay, Dr. Kerley, Marty’s office and clinic family, and the St. Catharines General Hospital palliative care team, who all worked tirelessly to provide him with the utmost in dignified care.Funeral service will be held at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines ( 905-685-6584) on Monday March 10,2014 at 10am..Interment in B'nai Israel Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre (905-323-3863) or Congregation B'nai Israel (905-685-6767).
