Obituary of George Michalko

Michalko, George It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the age of 80 surrounded by his family, in his favourite place, at home. George was married to the love of his life, Carole (nee Turner), for fifty-seven years. Loving father of Rodney (Jill), Steven (Lisa), Joseph (late Sue) and Julie (Al Larochelle). An amazing Grampa cherished by Stephanie, Christie, Bradley, Kailie, Ross Michalko and Josh and Alaina Larochelle. Lovingly remembered by Frances Turner (sister-in-law), Kathryn Foster (sister) and Pegi Michalko. George worked at Garden City Paper Mill, and Pakfold Business Forms as a printer. He then enjoyed semi retirement working with his buddy Pete doing small engine repair into his 79th year. George loved spending time up north fishing, hunting and while at home, tinkering around the house and yard. He was also an avid spectator at all his grandkids activities. George’s family wish to thank everyone for their care, support and attention. Visitation will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street,St. Catharines on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11am. Memorial donations to either SickKids Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto (donor.inquiries@sickkidsfounation.com) or Tender Wishes Foundation (905-371-0300) would be appreciated by the family.
