Obituary of Ruth Wilson

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ruth Wilson, who left this world on February 5, 2025, surrounded by love, dignity, and peace. She was the heart of her family and was deeply cherished for 56 years by her beloved husband and lifelong partner, Bob. Their love story began in their teenage years, and they had been inseparable ever since. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to one another.

 

Ruth was a loving mother to Lesa and Rob (Theresa). Her greatest joy in life was being “Nanny” to Edwynn, Emma, and Kristopher, whom she adored beyond words. Every achievement of theirs filled her with immense pride.

 

Ruth was the kindest soul. Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. In her final moments, she was surrounded by family, held in love, and free from pain—something we will be forever grateful for.

 

She will be deeply missed by her sister Marg, sister-in-law Alice, nephew Michael, niece Jodi, and her beloved furbaby, Raven. Ruth also leaves behind countless other nieces and nephews who fondly called her “Aunt Ruby.”

 

Our deepest thanks go to the compassionate staff of Hotel Dieu Shaver, 2 West—especially Rosie Enzlin, Jenn Siconolfi, Meredith Pattison, Jody Gowling, and Dr. Galina Arvinte—whose kindness and care ensured that Ruth’s final journey was one of comfort and dignity. For that, we will always be profoundly thankful.

 

As per Ruth’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
