Obituary of Gladys Ward

Ward, Gladys (Sheila) Passed away peacefully at her home after a courageous battle with cancer in St. Catharines on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 with her family by her side. In her 86th year, Gladys (Sheila) Ward (nee Bale), beloved wife of the late Donald Ward. Loving mother of Donald Ward (Lynne), Valerie Letford(late Keith) and Thelma Louise Elmore (Bobby). Loved grandmother of eight grandchildren and thirteen great granchildren. Dear sister of Cheryl Johnston (late Vern). Fondly remembered by all her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Steven, by a grandson Brian and by three brothers Gary, Keith and Lynden. Sheila’s family would like to thank the amazing caregivers for their caring support and compassion. Sheila was a valued employee at Canada Post for twenty-six years and loved by all. She made many life long friends. Visitation will be held at Patrick J.Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11am. Interment in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fonthill. Don’t cry, because Angels don’t die, they just go to heaven.
