Obituary of Alexandra POURSANIDIS

POURSANIDIS Alexandra (nee. Papadopoulas) ~ It is with great sadness that the family of Alexandra, a loving wife, mother and Yiayia, announces her passing on Saturday, December 15, 2012. Alexandra was born on January 10, 1937 in Kalithea, Greece and came to Canada in 1959 where she married Nikolaos. Alexandra will be sadly missed by her devoted husband Nick, her sons, Danny & his wife Jennifer, George & his wife Kathy, Jack & his wife Alicia. She will also be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren, Nikolas, Alexandros, Jordan, Demitri, Niko, Kristo, Nina & Niki. Alexandra is also survived by her sisters Chrisoula & Voula and her brother George all of Greece. She is predeceased by her infant brother, George, her mother Despina, her brother Yanni, her stepmother Kiriaki and her father Jakovos. Alexandra’s family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of the Woolcott Wing in Welland for their compassionate care of our cherished wife, mother & Yiayia. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel (905-685-6584), 39 Court St., St. Catharines on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held at the St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church (905-685-3028), 585 Niagara St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10am. Interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
