Obituary of Harold Haley

HALEY, Harold June 11, 1941 – May 21, 2021 It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Harold Melbourne Haley (Bucky) in his 80th year. A devoted husband, loving father, proud papa and friend. Devoted husband of the late Georgina Gail Haley (nee Thorne – 2018). Loved and survived by his children, Douglas and Brenda-Lynn Haley; and his grandchildren, Dylan and Haley Dawn Gale. Cherished brother of Tena Leonard and Florence Morrice and their families. He will also be missed by the Thorne family, many friends, and nieces and nephews. Harold was a US Marine and worked most of his life at Norton Abrasives company. He enjoyed travelling with Mom in their RV, was an avid boater, and loved all animals – especially his loyal Chow Chow, Quan Lee. The family wishes to thank his dear companions, Lance and Treasure Wall and Lindsay Keysis for their devotion, care and unwavering friendship. A special thank you to Dr. Sali Thiab and to all of the nursing staff, PSWs, and Dr. Halliday for their kind and loving support at Extendicare St. Catharines. According to Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service and celebration of life will take place at a later date. Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Canadian Veterans Society.
