The road is sometimes hard but the journey shapes who we become. Paula lived an intentional life and each time we met I came away reassured that she never faltered in that trait. The last time we connected she did not mention her own challenges but spoke only of those she cared about. My sympathy to all who loved her. John Chiasson

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Paula’s passing. Paula and I were friends all through high school. She was beautiful through and through, and so much fun to hang out with. We lost touch after graduating but I always treasured our friendship from those formative years. Shauna, you have my heartfelt sympathy. ~ Beverly (Copan) White.

Dear Shauna and Michael,
I am heartbroken! Such a loss to you and the world. Michael, you may not remember me, but I am your mother’s older first cousin on the Vallas side. I remember your mother as a bright, lovely child and young woman who grew into a warm and loving adult. Shauna, it is so difficult to lose such a dear sister, the last of your nuclear family.—- I still grieve that loss. Know that I am thinking about you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and in my heart. Love, Marcia

Dear Michael and Shauna: My heart breaks for you. No matter at what age or stage of life, Paula was brilliant. Her beauty made you look, her brains made you listen and her sunny personality made you happy just to be around her. As a kid I loved tagging after she and Maureen, and as an adult I loved knowing her. Family meant everything to Paula and her (justifiable) pride in Michael sustained her. The world has lost a true treasure but I hope that your treasured memories will give you the joy and comfort you abundantly deserve as her son and her sister. My deepest sympathies.

Dear Shauna,
May Almighty God continue to help you through this time without yet another of your family called home. How could you know that Paula would be called home so young. God never meant for death when He created us up on the earth. Nothing can ever replace a family member.
In Matthew chapter 5 verse 4: God promises...."Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"
I believe God's Word and know that you will be comforted for as long as you need.
Sincerely
Gale Cook
