ROCKINGHAM, Peter

It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of our husband and our father, Peter, on April 25, 2022 at the age of 71. Loving, loyal and devoted husband of 47 wonderful years to Anne (neé Grivich). Beloved, protective father to his girls, Jennifer Rockingham (René) and Julianne Morosin (Rob). Proud grandfather affectionately known to the kids as “PaPete” to Claran, Charlotte and Gregory. Predeceased by his father, Eric Rockingham, and fondly remembered by his mother Joan Rockingham, and his brothers Christopher (Marg) and Tony (Pam). Our family would like to express gratitude towards the incredible Intensive Care staff at the St. Catharines General, including Dr. Melanie Hollidge, and registered nurses Kim Marcov, Bridget Lipinski, and Lea Hogue. Thanks also to the incredible EMS team and calm and helpful dispatch operator.

A graduate of McMaster University in 1972, his random fact knowledge and passion for all things historical will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. Peter was never far from his books, always reading his latest pick from the library, beer in hand. Passion for travel lasted throughout his life, with fantastic stories of living in the wilderness before marriage, and wonderful trips abroad with his loving wife later on. Peter will be greatly missed by many extended family and friends: life may pass but love does not.

Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Beechwood Golf Course, (4680 Thorold Townline Rd, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 6S4) on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 4-7 PM.
