Lenart, Vincent John

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather at the Niagara Falls Hospital on September 19, 2022 at age of 89. Loving husband of Joann for 46 wonderful years. Loving father of Brian Lenart and Linda Lenart (Pizzi). Loving grandfather of Charlene Pizzi, and Brandon Pizzi. Predeceased by his parents Andrew & Mary Lenart and his sisters Dorothy Lenart and Margaret Sidlar. Loving uncle to Ronnie Lenart, Sharon Lenart, Jayne Nahachewsky (Conrad), Joan Becar (Dan), Gary Sidlar (Brenda) and Ed Sidlar (Barb) who he enjoyed playing golf with. He resided on his farm in Niagara on the Lake until his passing.

Vince attended the University of Guelph and earned a degree in Horticulture. He wrote his exam and became a Canadian Customs Officer at the Niagara Falls border for nearly 10 years. He was a purchaser at Chateau-Gai Wines, and later became a part owner of Château des Charmes Winery, one of the original 7 wineries in the Niagara Region. Vince sold his partnership many years later and then purchased his 170 acre grape farm in Grimsby from Labatt’s Canada and sold the farm in 2002. Over the years Vince owned and rented various farm properties in the Niagara Region. He owned and operated his own driving range in St. Catharines on Queenston street for several years and later sold it to his nephew. He was a real estate agent with Royal Trust and Wyrcimaga Real Estate Brokerage. He encouraged hard work and integrity in his children Brian and Linda and was very proud of them, his son Brian was an active partner in his business adventures. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and remembered for his loving nature and generosity.

Family will receive friends on Friday September 23, 2022 from 7-9PM and Saturday September 24, 2022 from 11-1PM with a funeral celebration at 1PM at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St. (Downtown), St. Catharines. Burial will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.pjdartefh.ca.
