Obituary of Frank Stempski

Frank John Stempski March 14, 1951 – November 20, 2022 It is with profound sadness that we announce Frank’s passing on Sunday November 20th, 2022 in his 71st year. Frank was the loving husband and best friend of Lynda (Boyle) for 51 years, proud father to Jennifer and her husband Mike Crawford and adored “Frank” to Lauren, Madelyn and Katelyn. Frank is survived by his brother Roger Stempski and by his sister-in-law Brenda Switzer. Uncle of Ethan (Vanessa), Rachel (Mitch), Greg, Bryan (Carrie) and several great-nieces and nephews. Frank was born in Hamilton to Frank and Sophie and moved to Vineland Station at an early age, where he lived above the family business, “Stempski’s Red & White Store” on Victoria Avenue. As a teenager he worked in the store and on the family fruit farms. Frank had an accomplished 40-year career working in the Plumbing, HVAC and Hydronics industries and was a well-respected leader and influential mentor to those who had the pleasure of working with him. Frank began working in the industry in 1970 at the age of 19 at Emco Supply where he met some of his very best life-long friends. Throughout his life, Frank enjoyed coaching youth baseball teams, travelling, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family and friends at his trailer on the Crowe River. Frank enjoyed Saturdays in the garage with his buddies, watching NASCAR and NFL Football, playing a game of poker, always with a case of OV in the fridge and a joke to share. A special thank you to the team of healthcare professionals who cared for Frank this past year: Dr. K. Swayze, Dr. A. Hallock and Julie of radiology, Dr. J. Bertley, Paramed Nurse Juby and Nurse Practitioner Angela, Personal Support Workers Rob, Rome, Thomas and Ibadete from Care Partners and Pam Ledoux coordinator of the LHIN for her part in arranging services to support Frank at home. Frank spent the last two weeks on the 3B Oncology unit at the St. Catharines site of NHS where he was provided with excellent care and respect. Special thank you to Dr. Bokhari, Dr. Lee, Nurse Practitioner Anna and the wonderful team of nurses for all of their support and compassion for Frank and his family. Frank is resting at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Home, 39 Court Street in St. Catharines. At Frank’s request there will be a private visitation, followed by cremation. A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held on Wednesday November 30th, 2022, service beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Luncheon to follow at the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club, 70 Westchester Avenue. A private family interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Walker Family Cancer Centre, McMaster Children’s Hospital, or the Breast Cancer Society of Canada in Frank’s honour. We are blessed to have such an amazing circle of family and friends. Thanks to all of you for your love and support.
