Obituary of Donna Marie Crawford

Donna Marie Crawford (nee Culp) 1945-2023 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother Donna into the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ . Donna is survived by her son Dave (Michele) and her daughter Barbara Joyner (Doug) , her grand children Rebecca, Alex, Dante and Amanda. She is also is survived by her brother John Culp ( Lucy) ..and several nieces and nephews . predeceased by her beloved husband Wayne (1978) her parents, Roy and Helen Culp, and 3 siblings Roy Culp jr.(Mary) ,Barbara Stevenson(Keith) and Robert Culp Donna and Wayne were wed at St. Marys of the Assumption Parish in a centennial formal gala in September 1967, as avid musicians, the music and dancing began a love story like no other. Two children and a move to Fenwick soon followed , and life on a farm settled in. The music died in 1978 with the sudden passing of Wayne, and Donna found herself a single mother of two young children, helping her aging parents. Donna returned to Niagara College and obtained an accounting degree and was employed at the Ministry of Community and Social Services. Employed in Hamilton, then transferred to the St. Catharines office, where she worked for over 25 yrs. Donna and her sister Barbara were very active in the CWL, various church functions and bereavement groups at St. Marys Parish. She was a devout Catholic with a strong faith . In later years Donna moved to Smithville to be near her family, then later to the Loyalist retirement living in St. Catharines. The family would like to thank the Loyalist staff, nurses PSWs and Doctors, for taking such great care of moms needs, as well as the SCGH staff and nurses for their tender care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Canadian Cancer society ,or the Alzheimer Association Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass in Celebration of her life will take place at St.Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday July 25, 2023 at 11 am with Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
