Obituary of John Bain

Bain, John Peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Friday, August 24, 2018. In his 81st year, John Bain, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Betty) Bain. Loving father of Paul (Nancy), Karen Lamb (Ken Raynsford) and Sandra McNeil. Devoted Granda of Owen, Anthony and Jessica Lamb, Rileigh and Liam McNeil and David Brennan. Dear brother of Mary Dalgarno (late Jim). Brother-in-law of James McIvor and Margaret Kelly (late Duncan). Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland and England. Predeceased by three brothers Tommy (Margaret), Jim (Mary) and Joe (Patricia). John came to Canada in 1975 accepting a position with Port Weller Drydocks as a steel fitter with Betty and their children following in 1976. Proud founding member of the St. Catharines Celtic Supporters Club and active member of the Irish and Scottish Clubs through the years. John cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, who brought him great joy and happiness. Visitation will be held at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
