Obituary of Jack Tomlinson

Tomlinson, Jack W.W.II Veteran Passed away peacefully at the Port Colborne Hospital on Thursday, September 6, 2018, In his 99th year, John Isaac Tomlinson, beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee Crossman) and the late Pearl Maidment (nee McDonald). Loving father, with Margaret, of Sara Tomlinson (Thomas Roper), and the late Gary Tomlinson. Step father of Candace (Ken Wilkinson), Gordon Maidment (Sharon)and Francine (Ken Walsh). He will be sadly missed by his dear friend Georgette Proulx, with whom he shared many special moments in his later years. Dear brother of Reta Shannon, he was predeceased by a sister Evelyn Clark and two brothers Cecil and Howard. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, especially Jack Tomlinson (Pat) who performed many acts of kindness to assist Jack in his later years. Jack was proud of his service to Canada as a member of the RCAF during the second world war, and known for working hard as the owner of Tomlinson Metal Products. After retiring, he maintained an active life travelling, bowling, golfing , playing cards, and enjoying the cottage life with his friends and family. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at both the St. Catharines and Port Colborne Hospitals, for their many acts of kindness. Visitation will be held at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 9am until time of service in the chapel on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11am. Memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian National Institute for the Blind would be appreciated by the family.
