BEKOS, Gus Constantin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gus on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the age of 95 peacefully in his sleep. Born in Davies, Greece to the late Theodore and Athanasia Bekos, Gus made the long journey to Canada by steamship in 1956. In 1966 he married his loving wife Toula, and they shared 57 wonderful years together. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Frieda (Gus), Kiki (Bill); grandchildren, John, Tayah, George, Anastasia and Charlie; sister, Xariklia (Athanasios); sisters-in-law Connie, and Nitsa, brother-in-law Dimitraki, and many nieces and nephews. Gus was preceded in death by his brothers, and sisters, Eriketi (Constantino), Georgia (Thanasios), Fred (Sophie), Vasiliki (Antonis) and George. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 5, 2023 from 6-9 p.m. at the Garden City Funerals & Cremations (formerly Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel), 39 Court Street, in St. St. Catharines. The First Thrice Holy Hymn Service/Trisagio will be held Tuesday September 5th, 2023 at 7 p.m. The Second Thrice Holy Hymn\Trisagio will occur, with the ensuing Funeral Service on Wednesday September 6th, 2023 at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church at 11 a.m. The Final Thrice Holy Hymn\Trisagio and Burial will occur at Victoria Lawn Cemetery following the Funeral Service.

The family kindly requests that any donations in Gus’ Konstantine's+ memory be made to St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church.
