Dr Henry Rodrigues de Souza died peacefully at home on January 9, 2024 surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Dr. Joyce de Souza, his parents Henry and Lucy, his sisters and Henrietta, Angela, Teresa, Sheila and Monica, and by his brother Jacinto (Sonny) de Souza. He was a King's Scout, a lifeguard, competitive swimmer, and a competitive oarsman, and later a doctor and specialist in pediatrics, internal medicine neurology and nephrology in St. Catharines. Over the years, he held a number of important teaching roles at Queens, Western and McMaster Universities, and was a pioneer in the introduction of renal dialysis during his time in the United Kingdom. Respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private internment.
