Helene Wertman/Estrin

It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the passing of our beloved Helene

on Thursday, February 1 st , 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Adored

daughter, mother, Bubby and Great Bubby, Helene was a strong woman who

always carried herself with grace, warmth, and dignity. Devoted daughter of the

late Dorothy and Robert Raphael and doting sister to her brother Ernie (Debra &

Flo).

She was entirely committed to the love of her life, the late Dr. Murray Wertman

and her dear sweet late husband Ben Estrin, her children the late Daniel (Karen &

Liz & his loving partner Susanne), Julie Snider (John), Sam Wertman (Cheryl),

Roberta “Bobby” Wertman (Jeffrey Stone) and the late Carole Kushner.

Enthusiastic and caring for her many grandchildren, Michael (Becky), Eden (Erran),

Brittney (Devon), Zack, Debra (Todd), Jaime (the late Justin), Murray (Rachel),

Benjamin (Michal), Jennifer, Katie (Ross). And great grandchildren, Colton, Amelia,

Iliad, Kaia, Walter, Willow, Elle, Remi and Daniella..

We are eternally grateful for the example that she set by sharing her sage wisdom

with a practicality and joyful exuberance that truly defined her. We will miss her

beyond measure and will continue to respect her legacy.

The family would like to thank Lilly who provided her with friendship and care for

several years, allowing her to stay at home until her decision to move to The

Dunfield where she received exceptional care and attention from the amazing

staff that works there. Special thanks to her incredible palliative team, Dr. Deepa,

Dr. Lilly and nurse Priscilla.
