Bensch, Phyllis (nee Stafford)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis on Tuesday May 7, 2024, in Her 87th year. Loving wife of Fred Bensch for 53 years. Loving stepmother of Doug Bensch (Janice) and the late Don Bensch (Tammy). Beloved Nana of 3 and great grandma of 4. Predeceased by her siblings George, Paul, Kenny, Frank “Bud”, Frances, Grace, and Shirley. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and her lifetime friends, Phyllis, and Corienne. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Peggy (Rob), and Carol (Dave) for their care and support.
Phyllis was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24. She worked at Dor-Ann Beauty Supply as well as Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel styling hair for many years.
As per Phyllis’s wishes cremation has taken place and family will receive friends on Saturday June 1, 2024, from 11AM - 1PM with a celebration of her life at 1PM at Garden City Funerals & Cremations (Formerly Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel), 39 Court St, St. Catharines. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
A private Family interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery will be at a later date.
