Obituary of Marianne Balsom

Marianne Balsom (Sharp), age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024. Marianne was adventurous, brave, kind, feisty and loving. She was so proud of being a mother and loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. She was a woman who loved to ride her motorcycle, collect crazy hats, all things Halloween and most of all spend time with her family and friends. She was a woman of many talents and had a passion for helping others. She had studied interior decorating, shiatsu therapy, raki, acupuncture, and many other topics in school. She spent many years working as a bartender at multiple bars throughout the Niagara region where she made thousands of connections to people throughout the community. She was an active member in the motorcycle community and spent many days riding with her friends. Marianne was truly a free spirit who loved to dance to her own drum.  She truly made an impact on many peoples lives and will be sadly missed by many.  

She is survived by her three children Carley Sharp, Alexandra Sharp, and Stephanie Klassen (Sharp), Grandchildren Cylus Klassen, Bronson Klassen, Wesley Lindsay and Wren Marleau and Siblings Joseph Balsom, Joanne Yale, Michelle McKenna, Mike Balsom, and Paula Credico. Preceded by her mother Mary Balsom (Sergenese) and her father Sebastiano Balsomo.

Viewing will be held at Garden City Funerals and Cremations located at 39 Court St.St.Catharines, ON. L2R4R8 on Thursday, May 30th, 2024, from 4-6pm. Celebration of life will be Sunday June 9th, 2024, there will be a final ride meeting at Clare’s Harley-Davidson of Niagara – 590 York Rd. Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON L0S1J0 for 11 and ending at Carlton Heights Pub – 595 Carlton St. St.Catharines, ON L2M4Y2 for food, drinks and music at 4pm.
