POURSANIDIS, Nikolaos “Nick”

It is with tremendous sadness that Nick’s family announces his passing on Monday October 21, 2024. He left us peacefully, surrounded by family. Loving husband, father, and Pappou, he was the quintessential Patriarch of the Poursanidis family. Nick was born on October 20, 1931 in Kalithea, Greece and came to Canada in 1956 where he married the love of his life Alexandra. They are now united for eternity. Nick will forever be missed by his sons and their wives, his 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and all his extended grand children, great grand children, nieces and nephews. Survived by his sister Eleni and his brother-in-law Anestis. Predeceased by two loving brothers and his loving sister. Nick’s family wishes to thank Dr. Lepp, all the medical staff at St. Catharines General, GNGH, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and the residents and staff of Chartwell Retirement Residence.

Family will receive friends at Garden City Funerals (Formerly Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel), 39 Court St, on Thursday October 24, 2024 from 6-8PM. The First Thrice Holy Hymn Service/Trisago will take place at 7PM, at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be the following day, Friday October 25, 2024, at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara St., St. Catharines at 11:00 a.m. Final Holy Hymn/Trisago will occur at Victoria Lawn Cemetery following the Funeral Service. Donations made to St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
