Passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Friday, November 15, 2024,

at the Marotta Family Hospital, at the age of 74. Anica Saje, beloved wife of the late

Franc Saje, cherished mother of Andrea (Brad), Katharine (Richard), and Emily (Sean),

and proud Staramama of Liam, Madelyn, Jack, Sarah, Maya, Ben, Owen, and Cole.

Dear sister of Milka, Franc, and Marija. Remembered with love by her extended family

and friends in Canada and Slovenia.

Born in Slovenia, Anica courageously journeyed to Canada with her husband to build a

life rooted in love, hard work, and devotion to family. Nothing brought her greater joy

than her grandchildren and the moments she spent with them, as well as tending to her

cherished garden. She was also celebrated for her cooking, especially her strudel,

which was loved by all who had the pleasure of tasting it. Anica was proud member of

the CWL and devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. A woman of warmth and

wisdom, she will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering support to

all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Garden City Funerals and Cremations, 39 Court Street, St.

Catharines (905-685-6584), on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 2-4PM. Vigil

prayers will take place at 3PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the

Assumption Catholic Church, 169 St. Paul Crescent, St. Catharines, on Friday,

November 22, 2024, at 11:00AM Rite of committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

Memorial donations to St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, would be

greatly appreciated.
