Obituary of Reed Montgomery
Reed Carl Montgomery
Jan 24/80 -May 24/19.
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our youngest son Reed at his home. With his family at his side Reed lost his 4 month battle to Metastatic Melanoma. Cherished son of Robin and Randy, loved brother and best friend of Rory and Ryan. Proud and loving Step Dad to Ivy and "Rara" to Emelia. Loved Grandson to "Nan", Helen Fetterly. Loved Nephew to Aunt Dee and Uncle Wayne Knight, Karl, Craig, Wayne and Larry Montgomery. Cousin to Paul and Asleigh Knight and Jordan Montgomery and to all our Extended Cousins from “The Campell Clan” Predeceased by his adored "Pop" Lorne Fetterly, we all know he was waiting for him with a drink in hand and Grandparents Louise and Doug Montgomery. Reed was blessed and grateful to have many wonderful friends and neighbours who were his Chosen Family. Thank you for loving our son unconditionally. Melinda, Ivy and Emelia, Tara, Dan and Paula, Travis, Becky and Colby, Fran and Mark, Jamie, Dennis and Mike.
For all your help, compassion, understanding, laughter and tears over these past 4 months, we are forever grateful. For those of us who were fortunate enough to have Reed in our lives he was quiet, but strong willed, gentle and caring man. His pain and suffering is over. He wanted to be remembered as healthy and whole. As per his wishes cremation has taken place and he wanted No visitation or Service.Thank you to Dr. K. Adzich and Heather Winthorpe of Community Palliative Care, Dr. Brian Siu, Nurses Trevor and Michelina of St. Elizabeth's, and to Paola Lawrence of the LHIN. His rescue dog Rora from St. Lucia is his "daughter" he would have hoped that people would donate to their organization. Pet Valu Pendale at 210 Glendale Ave has set up a table in Reed's remebrance so you can go into the store directly to donate or you can go to the website for S.L.A.P.S . Arrangements intrusted to Patrick J Darte 39 Court St, St.Catharines, Ontario, (905-685-6584)
"Fly high Monty you can finally vape again." Rora will be loved and spoiled, Promise!
