Obituary of Robert Ure

Ure, Robert Passed away peacefully with his family side at the Greater Niagara General Hospital,in Niagara Falls on Wednesday March 19, 2014. In his 87th year,Robert John Ure, beloved husband of Dorothy Ure (nee Rae) for over fifty years. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Special friend of Ron Balasiuk and his wife Pat. Predeceased by his brother Fred and by his parents Douglas and Rose.Robert was a lifetime resident of St. Catharines. He graduated as a civil engineer working alongside his father and brother in their downtown surveyor’s business. Robert was a member of the St. Catharines Rotary Club and the Niagara Lodge #2 A.F. and A.M.G.R.C.. Robert celebrated his faith at Grace United Church, in Niagara-on-the- Lake. Special thanks to the outstanding staff at the Niagara Falls Hospital for their sensitivity, care and professionalism. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street,St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Friday March 21, 2014 from 7 pm to 9pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday,March 25, 2014 at 11am. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. “Bob will be remembered for his gentle nature and his unending supply of stories.”
