Obituary of William Cairns

Cairns, William Into the arms of his Lord, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on Wednesday March 26,2014.In his 79th year, William John Henry Cairns, beloved husband of Fern Cairns (nee McColl), father to Keith McCormick, special friend to Bob McIntyre (Heather). Dear brother to Lola (Wayne Campbell) and Sandy Cairns (Dave Little). Dear uncle to Debbie, Lori, Terry, Mark, Marty, Kevin, Sylvia, Stephanie and Caleb. Brother-in-law of Betty (Reid Scriver) and Billy McColl. Special thanks go to Dr. Pablo Serrano of the Juravinski Cancer Center for his tireless efforts on our Bill's behalf, for his compassion and for his respect for Bill's desire to be allowed to pass with dignity in the end. The family would also like to thank all those wonderful nurses who took such good care of him right up until the end. Our gratitude also reaches out to Pastor Albert and Scott who provided many words of comfort, not only to Bill, but to all of us as well. He will be, and is already, terribly missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest peacefully Bill, until we can meet again. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11am at the Niagara Heights Church, 136 Confederation Avenue, Thorold.
