Obituary of Anne Szantay

Anne Szantay (nee Tasi) passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2014 in her 94th year at the Centennial Wing of Henley House in St. Catharines with her daughters and son-in-law by her side. She lived her long and wonderful life to the fullest with Joseph, her beloved husband of 57 years who predeceased her in 1997. Cherished mother of Joanne Davis and Doreen (James Renner). Loving Grandmother of Ryan (Angie), Kristi (Jon Horbach), Kendra, Josh and Dr. Suzanne Renner (Dr. John Heitzner). Proud Great Grandmother of Carlie, Maddy, Olivia, Kennedy, Justin, Chase, Trey, Knox, James and Jacqueline. Predeceased by her granddaughter Amanda and her sister Helen (John Allen) and by her parents Anna and John Tasi. She will be sadly missed and we are forever grateful for her unlimited love and generous spirit. Her family was her world and her strength, as she was ours. Anne’s family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and all care givers at Henley House for their dedicated and compassionate care given to their Mother in her final years and during her illness. We also want to acknowledge their kindness and support to Anne’s family during this difficult time. Friends may visit at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, 67 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-3964) on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 10:30 am. Rite of committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
