Obituary of Stephanie Hrabowensky

Hrabowensky, Stephanie ~ Passed away suddenly at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014. In her 62nd year, Stephanie Lesia, beloved daughter of the late Kateryna and Nickolas, loving sister and soul mate of Anne and her husband Stan Sachar. Most loving and doting aunt and second mother to Natalie and Melanie and her husband Marius Vartolomei. Stephanie was a dedicated primary school teacher in Tillsonburg for many years before retiring in St.Catharines for the last ten years. For her, family and friends were most important and she found something to celebrate in everyone's life: birthdays, friendships, special occasions, and especially Christmas. She loved belonging to the special retired teachers clubs, gourmet cooking, bridge, and volunteering at special occasions. Stephanie connected with everyone she met, her heart of gold shone through her eyes, her face, her words, and her deeds. A special thank you to all her friends who visited her constantly and brought a smile to her face while she faced the unknown - Myrosia and Andy, Mary and Ken, Vicki, Teresa, Tracy, Sue, Sonia, Lida, and so many others. Unfortunately she left us way too soon, not even being present to accept her first place Trillium Award for the best garden in all of the St.Catharines' St.Georges Ward. Visitation will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Tuesday Oct. 7, 2014 from 5 pm to 6 pm. Funeral prayers (Panachyda) will follow at 6 pm. Stephanie always made sure that her charitable donations were directed to causes where she could make a difference. As such, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Niagara, the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital Foundation, or the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital would be most appreciated. Vichnaya Pamiat
