Walters, Murray ~ Peacefully at the Tabor Manor in St. Catharines on Sunday March 29, 2015. In his 94th year, Murray Walters, beloved husband of the late Sarah Walters (nee Blitstein). Loving father of Vicki, Sam (Marianne), Barry (Jackie) and Auby (Sandra). Loved Zaide of Bram (Anne), Shana (Ryan), Jasmynn, Elliot and Taya. Great Zaide of Morris, Charlie, Hannah, Jonah, Seth and Millie. Dear brother of Sonny (Lynn), Dave (late Marcia) and Manley (Barbra). Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Rita (late Joe). Murray’s family wish to extend their sincere thanks to the compassionate 2nd Floor staff of Tabor Manor, The Hematology/Oncology Department of the Walker Cancer Clinic, and the 4th Floor St. Catharines General Hospital, to Dr. O’Reilly, Dr. Hughes and his caring staff, and the late Dr. Samosh. Murray and his late wife Sarah were longtime residents of St. Catharines. where they raised their family and were proprietors of the Walters Jewellers on St. Paul Street for over sixty years. Murray was an active member and past president of the St. Catharines Kiwanis Club, served on Brock University Board of Directors, a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary, served and formed the Community Drug and Alcohol Addiction Foundation, a proud member of the B’nai Israel Congregation. A funeral service will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 2:30pm. Interment in B’nai Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to One Foundation Niagara (905-323-3863) directed to the St. Catharines General Hospital Hematology Department or the Sarah Walters Memorial Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
