Obituary of Gertrude Bonazza

Bonazza, Gertrude Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Monday August 3, 2015 after a courageous fight with cancer. In her 89th year, Gertrude Marie Louise Bonazza (nee Laflamme),beloved wife of Roy Bonazza for fifty-nine years. Loving mother of Paul (Joanne) and Mary Lou Kewin (late Peter). Loving and kind Grandma and Nannie of Sarah, Jeff, Andrew, Kris, Chantal, Scott, Joey, Mikey, Danny, Laura and Sylvie. Dear sister of Monique, Cecile, Jean-Baptiste, Gerard and Jacques. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Jimmy, by two sisters Therese and Bernadette, and by two brothers Guy and Jean-Charles. Gertrude was eternally optimistic. She had a passion for learning and for living. She purchased an Ipad at age 83 and took lessons at the library. She had many interests but at the top of her list was a keen passion for art. She was particularly proficient with landscape painting. A Funeral Service will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Thursday August 6, 2015 at 6:30pm. The service will be followed by a reception till closing at 9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
