Obituary of Anne Diakow

DIAKOW: Anne Patricia: Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2021 in her 96 th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter (1994). Loving mother to the late Jerry (Mary) of Burlington, Bob (Helen), Dr. Peter (Maryann), the late Jean (Dennis Diggins), all of St.Catharines and Joanne (Dr. Joseph O’Neil) of Ottawa. Beloved Baba of Stephanie, Stasia (Sasha), Katya (James), Andrew, Kathleen (Ravi), Joey (Sara), Olenka (John), Peter (Lauren), Natalia (Kyle), Adrienne and Hannah and 6 (soon to be 8) great-grandchildren. Anne and Peter worked together running a small grocery store in St. Catharines and later in Thorold. She later worked as a cashier at Dominion Stores. Anne always worked hard while raising her family and actively participating in the Ukrainian-Canadian community. She loved to sing and was a long-time and devoted member of the Desna choir. She will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her many friends and acquaintances. Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. Due to Covid- 19 restrictions, a family-only Panachyda will be held on Tuesday evening with a private Funeral Liturgy at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church on Wednesday. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church Building Fund or to a charity of your choice.
