Obituary of Yvonne Sowery

Sowery, Yvonne - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Yvonne. She passed away quietly at home with her dear friend Lisa by her side on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at the age of 68. Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Sowery. Cherished mother of Michael Carr (Colleen)and Kelly Carr (Doug). Step mother of Rob Sowery (Lisa) and Rick Sowery (Becky). She was “Nana” of eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her brothers Gordon Auger (late Betty) and Gene Auger (Rosella) and by sisters Jeanine (Gordon DePass), Irene Carr (late Barry), Claudette Lessard (late Gordon) and Lynn (John Kewell). Yvonne will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and cherished friend Mary. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all of the PSW’s through CCAC and nurses Tina and Julie for all their care and compassion. She is predeceased by granddaughter Ariel, by sisters Doris (John Handley), Lillian Carron (late Paul), Dinah Singer (late Edward) and Mona (Herbert Schmidt) and best friend Georgina Craig. Visitation will be held at Patrick J.Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 1pm until time of service Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 2pm.
