Obituary of Eric Blackman

Blackman, Eric Sidney April 5, 1919 – March 26, 2010 Passed away peacefully at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital after a brief illness, beloved husband of the late former Rose Mayville (predeceased in 2000) and father of Dr. Eric Blackman (Maureen). Grandfather of Laurie (David Turner), Erica (Eduardo Salvador) and Leah Blackman. Great grandfather of Chase, Tia, Blake, Marcus and Talia. Brother of Audrey Dundas, Margaret Lang and Robert Blackman. Brother-in-law and best friend of Roy Moen (Kathryn). Predeceased by his father Charles, his mother former Daisy Taylor, his sisters Hilda Anderson, Eileen Oliver, Jessy McKenny, Betty Ridley and Marion Werden, and by his brothers Charles, Edward and Gerald. Eric started his working career at General Motors in 1940 and retired as General Supervisor in 1982. Eric was a proud citizen of St. Catharines for seventy years and enjoyed his later years at his Southgate Condo with active participation in euchre and pool with his many friends. His last five months were enjoyed at Heatherwood Retirement Residence. At Eric’s request, cremation and a private family service has already taken place.
