Obituary of Helena Blais

Blais, Helena Jean- Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday May 11, 2016 , at the Hamilton General Hospital on her 70th birthday. Born in Truro Nova Scotia to the late George and Jean Moore, she always referred to the East Coast as “down home” though most of her life was spent in St. Catharines. She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years Real , her loving son Stephen “Steve” (Jessica) and their children, including newest addition Quinn. Helena will be sadly missed by sisters Bonnie Rice, Eileen(Raye) Billard, and Sheila(Dave) Fraser. She was predeceased by sister Audrey Habel and we take special comfort in knowing they are now reunited.Survived by in-laws Carmen (Claude), Dianne (late Andre),Rene (Helene), Ginette (Guy), Michel (Guilane), Eugene (Carmen) Jacqueline (late Claude) and Jim Rice. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Claude Blais, Roger Habel Sr. and Dennis Parise. She was an adoring and supportive Aunt to her many nieces, nephews and their families and will also be lovingly remembered as a special Grand-mère, friend and neighbour. Helena thought highly of her colleagues and customers at Niagara Peninsula Liquidators and enjoyed her time spent working at Luke’s Auctions. Helena’s family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Omar Saeed,the nurses and staff at Hamilton General Hospital. Visitation will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel,39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1pm. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
