Obituary of Ivan Agnew

Agnew, Ivan Surrounded by his family at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital in St. Catharines on Friday, July 9, 2010. In his 90th year, Ivan Agnew, beloved husband of Viola Agnew (nee Maki). Loving father of Ray Agnew (Anita), Karen (Jack Hodgson), Susan (Mal Cain), Rob Agnew (Cindy) and Laurie (Jim Fillimchuk). Cherished grandpa of fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Dear brother of Allan and Ronald Agnew (Gail). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers Tom and Jack and by his sister Sylvia. Ivan was a flight sergeant during World War II, he was a founding member of the West St. Catharines Businessman’s Association. Ivan’s passion was shuffleboard at the Lion Tavern where he will fondly be remembered by his many friends. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 2 to4 pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday July 14, 2010 at 11am. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are requested to attend a memorial service Tuesday July 13, at 7pm. Memorial donations to either the Parkinson Society or the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
