Obituary of Captain Maurice Richardson

Richardson, Captain Maurice L. Peacefully at his home in St. Catharines on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. In his 84th year, Captain Maurice L. Richardson, beloved husband of Marilyn Richardson (nee Flumerfelt). Loving father of Paul Richardson, Paula Richardson, Vicki (Mike Mangialardo), and Christopher Graves (Sally). Loving Papa of Neil, Jaime, Kyle, Carly, Jacob, Michael and Philip. Great Papa of Patrick. Dear brother of Loretta (Frank Farinacci) and Joyce Bryan. Dear brother-in-law of Brian Flumerfelt (Terry). Fondly remembered by his many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Florence. Maurice started sailing on the Great Lakes in his early teens and served with Scott Misener Steamships and Algoma Central Marine for nearly six decades. His family wish to express their sincere thanks to Dr. John Redman, Dr. Martin Samosh and Dr. R. Nagai, the staff of the dialysis Unit Niagara Health System Ontario Street Site and his caregivers Margaret and Natasha. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Friday March 25, 2011 from 7 to 9pm. A celebration of Maurice’s life will be held in the chapel on Saturday March 26, 2011 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to either the Canadian Cancer Society, the Ontario Kidney Foundation or your favourite charity would be appreciated by the family.
