Sturdy, “Harry” William Henry Peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. In his 92nd year, William Henry Sturdy, loving husband of Lillian Sturdy (nee Herman). Loving father of Colin (Janice ), Kevin (Doris) and Brenda Hookings (John). Loved grandfather of Serena (Lance), Michelle (Brad), Christopher (Gwen), Paul, Scott, Jenna and Julie. Great grandfather of Zack and Adelaide. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers Leslie and Brian. Harry served in the Royal Air Force during World War II, Harry was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Medal by King George VI at Buckingham Palace. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 12noon to 1:30pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday afternoon at 1:30pm. Memorial donations to the St. Catharines Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
