Obituary of Sidney David Slepkov

Slepkov, Sidney David It is with profound sadness that the Slepkov family announce the passing of Sidney David Slepkov , their beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, brother-in-law and very special friend, at the grand old age of ninety-six on Saturday, August 13, 2016 after a life lived to the fullest. Sidney was predeceased by his beloved wife Sookie (nee Sarah Dental). Left to mourn him and remember all that he meant to them are his children Howard and his wife Marlene and Bernie, all of St. Catharines, Norman and his wife Idele, of Jerusalem, Israel and Martin and his wife Leslie, of Aurora, ON. Loving “Zaidie” grandfather of Aaron (Emily DiBattista), Tova (Wallace Pitthouse), Lior, Rebecca (David Nockerts), Noah (Liran Denesh), Aliya (Pini Dror) and Talia (Roni Zizov). Loved great “Zaidie” of Beth, Sofia, Samuel, Eitan, Dafna, Avery, Daniela and Ariel. Dear brother-in-law of Beatrice (Ray).Predeceased by his parents Sarah and Morris Slepkov, his three sisters Gilda Torno, Laurie Brown and Adelle Tomarin, and by in-laws Mal and Edie Dental, Julie and Esther Goodbaum, Sam and Miriam Abrams, Burke Brown, Sam Torno and Harry Tomarin. Sid will be fondly remembered by his many friends and associates as a result of his lifetime residency in St. Catharines. A funeral service will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 1:30pm. Interment in B’nai Israel Cemetery, St. Catharines. Memorial donations to Congregation B’nai Israel , 190 Church St., St. Catharines L2R 3E9 would be appreciated by the family.
