Droganes, Panayioti “Peter” Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Sunday, October 16, 2011. In his 77th year, Peter Droganes, beloved husband of Ann (nee Gill). Loving father of Georgia(Harry Korosis) and Jacqueline (Peter Dobbie). Loved Papou of Yianni, Eirini and the late Peter. Dear brother of Athanasios (Paraskevi) and Eleni Makri (late Kiriako), all of Greece. Dear brother-in-law of Mary Droganes (late Constantine), Paul Gill (Maureen), Diane Gill (late David) and Linda Dick (Gregory). Dear son –in-law of Jacqueline Gill (late Forbes). Special uncle of Georgina and Constance. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews in Greece and Canada. He was the youngest of the five children of the late Dimitri and Georgia Droganes, of Apidia, Greece. Predeceased by his brother Constantine and by his sister Olga. Peter immigrated to Canada in October, 1952. He was co-owner of the St. Catharines landmark Diana Sweets, with his brother Gus. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 7 to 9pm and Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara St., St. Catharines on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 11am. Interment will be in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
