Obituary of Jack Mitchell

MITCHELL Jack … It is with heavy hearts and sadness that the family of Jack Mitchell announces his passing on March 16, 2012 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his wife and best friend Renee. Passing before him were his sister Ruth Kraus and his parents Sam and Sarah. Jack leaves behind his daughters Barbara and Joanne and son David. Jack was a doting grandfather and will live forever in the hearts of his grandchildren Steven, Paul and Adam. He is survived by his sisters May Kramer and Zella Glickman and brother in law Norman Kraus and friend Anne Picov. Jack was the well known owner of Mitchells Ladies Wear. He was a devoted family man who leaves his children with many wonderful memories. A special thank you is extended to the excellent Seasons nursing staff and the care takers and staff from St Elizabeth, Red Cross, Para Med and St. Catharines Extendicare for their compassionate care in helping Jack live comfortably in his final years. Words cannot express our gratitude. In lieu of flowers, the family requests as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or B’nai Israel Synagogue. Funeral Service will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel (39 Court Street St. Catharines 905-685-6584) on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 1 p.m. Shiva will be held from Sunday evening until Wednesday evening 1 … 4pm & 7 … 9pm at the apartment of David Mitchell at 202-16 Westdale Drive, Welland, Ontario L3C 2S2.
