Obituary of Sam Seto

Seto, Sam (Tho Ho Waite) Peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 16, 2012. In his 90th year, beloved husband of the late Bik Yuk Seto (nee Chuy). Loving father of Wai Ming (Nguyen), Eva (Steve Fung), Mona (Scott Hinsperger) and Dona Seto-Goodwin. Loved “Gon Gon” of Angela, Lori, Sammy, Kitty Lee, Tamara, Raquel, Joy, Samson, Tasha, Brandon, Kyle, Nicole, Lindsay and Emily and ten great grandchildren. Dear brother of Bessy Wong (Danny) and Susan Chung. Brother-in-law of Ho Sin Yu Seto (late Nay Tia). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Sam was co-owner of the Rice Bowl Chinese Restaurant established in 1966 on Niagara Street, then in 1967 moved to the Midtown Plaza on Welland Ave, retiring in June 1993. Mr. Seto’s family wish to express their thanks to the staff at the Loyalist for their care and love. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Sunday August 19, 2012 from 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 1pm. Interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the New St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
