Dear Coral, Tania and family, Wade was my first friend when we were neighbours on Lakeshore Road. If he didn’t go to school, I wouldn’t either. I have fond memories of Wade and of hanging out with all of you. He and I were back in touch recently and had hoped to reconnect in person - I’m so sorry we didn’t manage. My deepest condolences to all of you on the loss of Wade. May his memory be a blessing to you and all of his beloved ones. Sandy

I was sad to here about the passing of Wade. Me & Wade shared a spacious apartment on Saint Paul St in the late nineties where a good time could be had on many a day, or evening and it was. I was happy that Wade went on to further pursue music history & culture. I had no idea the depth to which he had gone in his pursuits which is very admirable. I remember one day coming home & Wade & this Rastafari were jamming up some real real old school stuff that you would only see in that space & place in time that we shared upstairs. Wade will be sadly missed by all the people he played with, stayed with and pissed right the hell off, because like all artists and I can attest that we are sometimes very volatile opinionated people who can switch on a dime & its in our blood to spit fire, burn tires & tear apart the curriculum. Are you with me? I know Wade is. This is a picture from one of the best party's of all time. I know Wade was liking this lady upstairs, but I can't remember her name?

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Wade. I was lucky to be in his tutorial this past fall, and the respect he had for students and the unique insights he brought to class are rare to find in the academic world. He seemed to be extremely passionate about his work and life, which was both inspiring and refreshing to be around. I feel lucky to have been taught by him and learn about his perspectives, even if only for a short while. I will be thinking of Wade's loved ones during this time.

I am so devastated to learn of the passing of my friend Wade. Wade always brought so much personality and insight to our PhD courses... only recently I was remembering a joke he shared this summer semester which turned into a profound reflection on the class discussion. The world has lost a brilliant, passionate historian, and I have lost a dear friend and peer. My sincerest condolences to those in Wade's immediate family and circles. I will remember him and his work as our cohort carries on.
