Jack was a great Physical Education teacher, he always got our attention and respect while teaching his class . You always left his class with one more nugget of knowledge ( at least ) . His classes were also fun and challenging. Even after I left ENSS anytime that I stopped in I would always look him up for a visit, he was always happy to see one of his former students and athletes. It’s been 45 years since I left high school but quite often Jack’s name will come up in conversation when I speak with a fellow student or another teacher. Jack you will be missed but never forgotten, knowing you you’re probably in Heaven couching a team or playing a sport. Till the next time couch may God Bless you. Michael Hansen

So sad to hear of your loss, Hazel, Adrian and Grant. There are many tributes here from Mr. Strupp's athletes and students, but it can barely scratch the surface of what his presence and efforts in our lives meant to us. He garnered respect and returned it two fold, and taught us with patience and understanding, enthusiasm and pragmatism. We learned without embarassment in health, we learned to love dance class at an awkward time in our lives. My memories are too many, and still so prevalent. His voice lots of times in my ears as I continued to keep sports in my life after highschool. His committment gave so many opportunities to a young girl that might not have otherwise had them. Drives to track meets in the summer, our first flights when attending a meet in Thunder Bay, countless stops for dinners, trust when away at overnight meets in Ottawa, Toronto, elsewhere. Someone for whom we all wanted to work, and to whom we listened with appreciation for his opinions, stern ones when we needed them. We marvelled at his abilities, often taking on two players at a time at tennis, badminton, and as Harold mentioned beating most of us at sprints and cross country. There didn't seem to be a sport that he wasn't well versed in and adept at. I can only imagine what family life was like with him, your fortune at experiencing that, and now equally the loss. Rest Well, track "Dad", Sincere Condolences to the family, Gloria Yeung (Brehaut) '81

Great teachers shape young lives in ways they can never fully know. Students come and go, and not all form deep, long-lasting relationships, but even those who encountered Jack for a brief time couldn't help but be affected by his upbeat energy, intelligence and enthusiasm. To the family of Jack Strupp, please know that he made a difference in my life and that of many others who had the privilege of meeting him.

Hazel, Grant, Adrian and families please accept my condolences on your loss of Jack. He was a great coworker, beloved teacher, kind and generous man. I have many fond memories of working with Struppie as I and many others called him. After he and I both retired him and Michelle came to Colborne to see me and that little gesture touched me more than anyone knew. Cherish your many memories. Mary Ainsworth and son Joshua
